How to Report Mould to Your Landlord (Template Letter)

Reporting mould to your landlord correctly is crucial. A properly documented complaint creates a paper trail that protects your rights if the issue escalates to SACAT.

What to Include

• Date and your address
• Specific locations of mould (rooms, walls, surfaces)
• When you first noticed it
• Any health symptoms you’ve experienced
• What you’ve done to prevent it (ventilation, cleaning)
• Request for inspection and repair within 14 days
